Real-life skills, built step by step.

At Premiere Living Services, Independent Living Services (ILS) helps adults learn the practical skills they need to live more independently, at home and out in the community.

We work side by side with each person. The coach shows how, the person practices, and over time the coach steps back.

What Is ILS?

Independent Living Services is a Regional Center service that teaches adults the everyday skills needed for a more independent life. It works for people who live with family and for people who already live on their own.

ILS is about building skills, not doing things for the person. Every plan is built around that person’s own goals.

Who Is This For

ILS may be a fit for individuals who:

  • Are clients of a California Regional Center
  • Are ready to learn new skills
  • Live with family and want their own place someday
  • Already live on their own and want more confidence

What We Work On

Home Skills

  • Grocery shopping, meal planning, and cooking
  • Cleaning, laundry, and keeping a home
  • Sorting mail and staying organized

Money and Planning

  • Budgeting and managing money
  • Planning the week with calendars and reminders
  • Making phone calls and handling paperwork

Getting Around

  • Taking the bus and learning routes
  • Getting to appointments on time
  • Building comfort in community settings

Our Approach

Most of our work happens out in the community, where the skills are actually used.

  • The person leads and makes the choices
  • We practice until a skill sticks
  • The coach steps back as confidence grows
  • Families and Service Coordinators stay in the loop
